Westchester Numbers Higher than Most other Counties
After 7 days of early voting in the 2022 Primaries in New York State, the message is that several hot congressional primaries are resulting in an above average turnout. Numerous early voting sites are helping voters cast their ballots, and point to an active democratic electorate.
In Westchester, 8,625 voters have cast their ballots early, with another three days to go.

Brooklyn: 15,793
Nassau: 6,313
Erie: 5,014
Staten Island: 4,826
Queens: 3,408
Bronx: 3,323
Suffolk: 2,548
In comparison to other communities, Westchester voters have come out in higher numbers to cast an early ballot. One reason may be that Westchester County is home to two competitive Congressional primaries.
In District 16, Congressman Jamaal Bowman is being challenged by County Legislator Vedat Gashi and County Legislator Catherine Parker, in a democratic primary.
In District 17, Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney is being challenged by State Senator Alessandra Biaggi in a democratic primary.
Also in District 17, five republicans are on the ballot in a GOP primary, led by Assemblyman Mike Lawler and Somers Councilman Bill Faulkner.
