The war of words between two former media lovebirds, Howard Stern and Donald Trump, escalated after Stern said on his Sirius/XM show about the former President, “The oddity in all of this is the people Trump despises most, love him the most.. The people who are voting for Trump for the most part… he wouldn’t even let them in a fuc*king hotel. He be disgusted by them.”
Of course, Trump responded in kind, posting on his Truth Social media platform, “I have been noticing the fact that Howard Stern‘s show has gone to Hell, and so few people are listening—Used to be great, now it rates less than fair. It’s a sad thing to watch. When he loved “Trump,” it was “hot,” when he decided to go with Crooked Hillary, his ratings world collapsed. Can’t believe they pay him so much money, but I hope he gets it!”
Howard Stern’s show has changed and has evolved into something different from when Trump was a frequent guest in the 1990’s, when Stern attended Trump’s wedding the Marla Maples.
Some have correctly wondered why Trump would remind us of his Stern interviews, when the show was more about sex, and lesbians, and parading women in and out for Stern and his cronies to evaluate. On those Stern shows, Trump gladly joined in, and spoke about his own sex life and other tidbits that have become the focus of some media sites, like www.trumponstern.com.
In 2020, Stern and Sirius agreed to a five-year $500 million contract. Since then, Stern, 68, has mellowed and gotten off the focus on sex, and instead has turned into one of the best interviewers in American media.
His recent interview with Bruce Springsteen brought old haters of Stern to listen to him for the first time in decades. The Bruce interview turned into a 2 hour HBO special. One comment on social media reads, “I’m not a Howard Stern fan, but he seems to be very popular & successful; has a platform with listeners; a loving wife. trumpo has Mar-a-Lardo, weddings to crash & a wife who hates him.”
Another comment, “Lol at his low point trump was part of the freak show of regulars, just desperate for attention even when it’s just spectacle. And stern exposed him easily by appealing to his ego.”
After COVID, Stern has continued to mellow, while Trump remains the same as he was in the 1990’s when they were both on air buddies.
Stern’s politics have also changed since the days with Trump on his show. Stern has become more liberal, or at least more liberal on the air, while Trump remains the same.
