With reports that the FBI is investigating the case of Anand Singh, a former employee at the Board of Legislators who was caught in an underage sex sting operation, Yonkerstimes.com has received a copy of a letter written to BOL Chair Catherine Borgia from Westchester District Attorney Mimi Rocah’s office about her investigation.
The letter, dated April 18, reads, “On April 14, the Westchester County Distrct Attorney’s Office, WCDAO, was made aware of allegations that an employee of the Board of Legislators, Anand Singh, engaged in criminal conduct in December 2022 of a sexual nature related to a purported minor. Further, the WCDAO has reason to believe that, on or about the time of the incident, members of the BOL were made aware of the allegations.
“In connection with an inquiry regarding the incident now being conducted by the WCDAO, we request the preservation and production of all materials and information relating to the incident be preserved…including Notice to any member or employee of the Board of Legislators related to the incident; Notice to any government agency, or employee thereof, by any member or employee of the BOL related to the incident; Content of any and all computers, cell phones and other electronic devices and computer networks,” writes Amy Finzi, Chief Westchester ADA.
Finzi writes that Rocah’s office was not made aware of the Singh incident, which occurred in December of 2022, until April 14.
Borgia said, in a video statement that “When it was brought to my attention that the Board received the first email about the employee’s actions, I immediately referred it to the Westchester County Department of Public Safety.” Borgia did not say on what date Singh’s depravity was made know to her.
We received the letter from a concerned Westchester parent who has a lot of questions.“Why they didn’t let the DA know about this back in December. By waiting until April, they may have allowed this predator time to delete or trash all of his illegal documents, photos and videos.
“I also want to know who else this predator contacted here in Westchester, and during his two years that he worked in Yonkers. I watched the video and it’s obvous to me that he had experience talking to, and convincing underage girls to do things that are illegal. I’m glad that DA Rocah’s office and the FBI are looking into this.”
We have been unable to find out any additional information about Singh, including how he got the job with the County BOL after working for former Council President Mike Khader from 2019-2021. But according to people who worked with Singh in both offices, “there was nothing unusual about him. he seemed normal. I am shocked,” are what we heard.
Also unknown is weather the Newark NJ Police Department will file charges against Singh for his midnight ride from Elmsford to Newark to rendezvous with a 14-year old girl. Singh sped off shortly after getting confronted by OBL Global and its founder Ramy.
