Cupcake Cutie Boutique Celebrates 10 Sweet Years of Legacy, Love & Black Excellence

Cupcake Cutie Boutique, a beloved Black-owned, women-owned bakery in the heart of Mount Vernon, marks its 10-year anniversary—a decade defined by faith, family, and flavor. What began as a humble kitchen venture in 2011 has blossomed into one of Westchester County’s most celebrated small businesses, inspiring the community with its story of perseverance and purpose.

Founded by mother-daughter duo Montika Jones, a Mount Vernon detective, and Miesha Stokely, a passionate self-taught baker, Cupcake Cutie Boutique officially opened its doors in 2015. Together, they transformed a shared dream into a thriving local business rooted in love and community uplift. From the very first batch, their mission has been clear: to deliver not just desserts, but joy and empowerment with every cupcake.

Through ten years of challenges—including the pressures of growth and the impact of the pandemic—the bakery has remained a symbol of resilience and innovation. Their legacy now stretches into three generations, with five-year-old Maisarah already representing the next wave of family creativity and entrepreneurship.

In summer 2025, the family expanded their vision with the launch of Cupcake Cutie on Wheels—a mobile dessert truck bringing their signature cupcakes, cakes, cake pops, milkshakes, and sweet treats directly to neighborhoods and events across Westchester County and beyond.

“Cupcake Cutie is more than a bakery — it’s a story of faith, family, and legacy,” says Damon K. Jones, Publisher of Black Westchester Magazine. “Montika and Miesha have shown what it means to build something beautiful that inspires others to dream bigger.”

The 10-Year Anniversary Celebration will take place on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 3 PM to 8 PM at Cupcake Cutie Boutique, 8 S. 6th Avenue, Mount Vernon, NY 10550. Guests are invited to enjoy cocktails, cupcakes, music, and good vibes as the community gathers to honor a decade of sweet success.
