Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins, right, with Assembly candidate Frank Jereis
Democrat Frank Jereis’ campaign for New York State Assembly continues to gain momentum and support, today earning the endorsement of County Executive Ken Jenkins. Jenkins, former head of the Yonkers NAACP and longtime Yonkers resident and civil leader, praised Jereis for his experience, commitment, and knowledge of the needs of Yonkers families. Jereis currently serves as Chief of Staff to the incumbent Assemblymember Nader Sayegh, who has announced he is not seeking re-election. The 90th Assembly District is the only Assembly District wholly contained in the City of Yonkers.
“As someone who lives in and loves Yonkers, I’m proud to endorse Frank Jereis for State Assembly,” said County Executive Jenkins. “Frank is committed to lowering costs and making our city more affordable, bringing in good jobs, and keeping our streets safe. I know we can count on him to stand strong for our Democratic values, and I know he’ll make an excellent Assemblymember.”
“I want to thank County Executive Jenkins for his endorsement and for his years of hard work and results for the people of Yonkers,” said Jereis. “It’s no secret that we are in challenging times, and I look forward to working with CE Jenkins and all of my colleagues in government to lower utility rates, increase our supply of housing that families can afford, keep our street safe, and stand up to Washington extremism that is hurting New York.”
Jereis’ campaign, which is a month old, is already attracting a broad base of support. In addition to Jenkins, he has earned the endorsements of County Legislators Jose Alvarado, Shanae Williams, and David Tubiolo; AFSCME Local 1897; our local Police, Firefighter, and Teamsters unions; and the unanimous support from the Yonkers Democratic Committee.
