The rainfall totals in Westchester reached 10 inches of rain in some communities. :Generally our parkway system were build in river valleys, that’s why we call them the Saw Mill River Parkway and Hutchinson River Parkway start to flood after 4 inches of rain. Mt. Kisco got 8.4 inches, New Rochelle 8 inches, Tarrytown 7 inches, which is more than the system can handle,” said Latimer.
“High tide was at 8pm along the sound, which backs up and floods the low lying areas, in Mamaroneck and Rye and Bronxville. The Bronx River Parkawy and parts of the Hutcinson River Parkway are closed but may be reponed by the end of the day. 200 cars were stranded around the County.”
