Congressman Lawler Meets with Yeonsoo Go

Scarsdale HS Grad and Purdue student improperly detained by ICE

Congressman Mike Lawler, with Yeonsoo Go, and her mother

On Nov. 26, Congressman Mike Lawler wrote, “I met with Yeonsoo Go, a recent graduate of Scarsdale High School and student at Purdue University who was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“My office worked closely with federal officials to assist in securing her release. In addition, we worked closely with her family and attorney through the process and resolved her situation. Yeonsoo’s case is yet another example of why we must fix our broken immigration system and make it easier for folks to come here and stay, the right way.

“It was a pleasure to meet with Yeonsoo and her mother. I look forward to seeing big things from her as she pursues her American dream.”
