CITY OF YONKERS LAUNCHES ADVANCED DIGITAL PLATFORM, MUNICOLLAB, TO STREAMLINE LAND USE REVIEW PROCESS

Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano today announced the implementation of MuniCollab’s digital platform to modernize the City’s Planning Board’s land use review operations. This initiative, led by the Yonkers Planning & Development Department, represents a significant advancement in Yonkers’ commitment to efficient governance and transparent municipal processes.

“Yonkers is a city that’s growing and evolving,” said Mayor Mike Spano. “By implementing this online platform, we’re making it easier for residents and developers to navigate our review process while ensuring our staff has the tools they need to manage our city’s complex development activity efficiently and securely.”

The new system digitizes the entire land use review lifecycle, from initial application submission through final decision-making, while ensuring complete transparency and record-keeping throughout the process.

Key benefits of the MuniCollab platform for the Yonkers community include:

  • Complete Digital Submissions: Guided application forms that ensure all required information is provided upfront, reducing back-and-forth delays
  • Centralized Document Management: Accessible to staff, board members, consultants, and relevant City departments
  • Greater Public Transparency: Easy public access to project information and application status

The adoption of MuniCollab’s software supports the City’s ongoing efforts to modernize municipal operations and enhance service delivery to Yonkers’ diverse and growing community.

“This platform will significantly improve our ability to process applications efficiently while making the entire process more accessible to applicants and the public,” said Jaime Martinez, Yonkers Planning Director. “It eliminates a lot of the manual work of downloading, uploading, and redistributing documents, allowing our staff to focus on substantive review.”

The platform has been specifically configured to integrate with Yonkers’ existing workflows, including connections to the City’s GIS system for automated property data population. The Zoning Board of Appeals and Landmarks Preservation Board are expected to utilize MuniCollab in the coming months.

Residents and developers can access the new City of Yonkers Planning Board Portal at www.yonkersny.gov and https://yonkers.municollab.com/planning-board/projects.
