“Investing in South Broadway” Seeks Resident and Business Feedback on Housing, Businesses, Streets and Public Spaces in Local District
Yonkers Mayor Spano announced its newest community urban planning initiative, “Investing in South Broadway,” targeting housing opportunities, stronger local businesses, safer streets and better public spaces. Residents, business owners and visitors along South Broadway are invited to share their feedback on how they would like the business and residential district improved.
Community members can learn about the initiative and complete a survey in English or Spanish at www.InvestinginSouthBroadway.com.
“South Broadway is home to families, small businesses and neighbors who care deeply about this community,” said Mayor Mike Spano. “We want to hear what’s working, what needs attention and what residents want to see in the years ahead. I encourage everyone who knows South Broadway to take the survey and help us plan for its future.”
Investing in South Broadway brings together community feedback and research to guide planning along the corridor from Park Hill Avenue to Caryl Avenue. The initiative explores ways to expand housing choices, support neighborhood businesses, improve walking and transportation, and preserve the character that makes South Broadway an important part of Yonkers.
The community survey gives participants an opportunity to identify their priorities, comment on different building and streetscape examples, and explain where certain ideas might be appropriate. Participants can also share concerns and suggestions in their own words.
Feedback will assist the City develop and refine draft ideas for the corridor. The effort builds on the first community meeting held June 9, 2026, and ongoing conversations with residents, business owners and community organizations. Additional opportunities to review ideas and provide input will be announced as planning continues.
The project website includes a map of the corridor’s four planning sections—North Gateway, Ludlow Station Area, South Broadway Main Street and South Gateway—as well as information about the planning process, materials from the first community meeting, and downloadable English and Spanish surveys.
