Once again, the Women in Business Committee of the Yonkers Chamber of Commerce spearheaded the Pajama Program and a new book drive for the City of Yonkers. Committee members stuffed a bus donated by the Yonkers Fire Department with hundreds of bags of PJs and books and delivered them to the Andrus Center.

Since 2001, the Pajama Program has provided more than 550,000 pajamas and 250,000 books to children in need nationwide.

“So many children are without warm bedtime clothing and education, so we developed a creative program to provide some of both,” said founder and Executive Director Genevieve Piturro. “We intend to make a difference – giving back is what it’s all about.”
