“Unfortunately, canceling content doesn’t cancel the crime.”
This video, link above, posted by the Yonkers Police Department in 2021, has now been permanently removed by YouTube. The YPD appealed YouTube’s decision but just received word that there appeal was denied.
The decision from YouTube was posted by the YPD on March 13, and is pasted below. “Content that contains violent or graphic footage, in a sensational or exploitative manner, is not allowed on YouTube.”
Many are questioning how this video, which was used to help convict 14 members of the Bloodhouse Brims 300 gang in Yonkers, can be described as “exploitative.”
The response from the YPD was, “Dear YouTube, Unfortunately, cancelling content doesn’t cancel the crime…”
