“F*&% the Jews” and KKK refereences Spray Painted

The Yorktown Police Department has launched an investigation into the discovery of anti-Semitic and racist graffiti found on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at two public locations: the Jack DeVito Veterans Memorial Track & Field and the Patriot Skate Park behind Town Hall.
The disturbing graffiti—which included anti-Semitic, racist and homophobic words at the skate park and profane images and words at the track—were discovered by residents. The Yorktown Police Department was immediately notified and is actively working to identify those responsible.
“The vile hate speech discovered in our town is utterly unacceptable and stands in direct opposition to everything Yorktown represents. We are a community that cherishes all diversity, a sentiment clearly demonstrated through events like our recent Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony and our annual Pride Festival,” said Yorktown Supervisor Ed Lachterman. “This incident serves as a stark reminder that our work to foster understanding and respect is far from over. These hateful acts will not be tolerated in Yorktown. We must continue to actively practice understanding and reject these divisive acts.”
“A major component of our investigation is asking the public to help us, help you. All of us at the Yorktown Police Department are eager to apprehend those behind the vile, ignorant and hateful graffiti at the skate park, as well as the profane graffiti made at the track,” said Yorktown Police Department Chief of Police Robert Noble.

Temple Beth Am Yorktown Rabbi Robbie Weiner said, “Shalom everyone. So often, we think, “Not in my town!” And so often, we are reminded, “Yes, even in our town.”
“Just this morning I was informed that antisemitic graffiti was spray painted steps away from our Yorktown Town Hall at the Skate Park. I have met with the Town Supervisor and some of the town officials. The graffiti was spray painted sometime yesterday evening. I have seen firsthand that it was completely removed. According to the Supervisor, the graffiti included swastikas and the phrase “F*** The Jews.” Additionally, there were references to the KKK. Currently, Yorktown PD is reviewing the video footage in the area and asking residents if they saw anything. Further, I have personally reported the incident to the ADL.
“In case it wasn’t clear before today, antisemitism is not just something that is happening on the college campuses or in Europe. We must stand strong and be vigilant because antisemitism and bigotry exists even in our town,” said Rabbi Robbie.
