Canvas & Community: Where Every Stroke Shapes Culture” 🎨
An Art Workshop with Pulitzer-Winning Artist Librado Romero.
The Grand Roosevelt Ballroom at 2 Hudson Street, Yonkers, is proud to present a special community art event on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 3:00 PM — a hands-on workshop led by Librado Romero, a celebrated American artist and Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist.
For the past two weeks, our restaurant has had the privilege of exhibiting Mr. Romero’s remarkable paintings—rich, expressive works that capture the heart of landscapes, memory, and American life. Now, we are thrilled to invite you and the public to take part in an afternoon of inspiration and creativity.
🖌️ What to Expect:
• Learn from a master: Romero will guide participants through live demonstrations and techniques.
• Explore storytelling through art — the way Romero transformed moments from photojournalism into bold, emotional brushwork.
• A family-friendly, open-to-all experience — whether you’re an artist or just art-curious!
But this is more than just a workshop — it’s a celebration of Yonkers’ creative spirit. A longtime admirer of Yonkers, Romero has often spoken about how the city’s textures, diversity, and natural beauty influence his current work. This event is his way of giving back to a community that fuels his artistic vision.
