We take pleasure in answering at once and thus at prominently and at the same time our great gratification that its faithful author is numbered among the friends of Yonkers Rising and Westchester Rising.
Dear Editor,
I am 8 years old.
Some of my little friends say Rye Playland will not open this year.
Papa says if you see it in Yonkers Rising or Westchester Rising it’s so.
Please tell me the truth. Will Rye Playland open this summer?
Anita (last name withheld per the request of the author)
I am Happy to say, Anita,, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by politicians who clash with the private sector,, causing poor little 8-year-olds to get upset for no reason. As in the Playland case,, the clash can be lengthy,, and we don’t know which side to believe.
But we know that you, Anita, and your friends love visiting Playland. The cost of a visit can be pretty high when one considers admission and parking, but one is guaranteed to have a great time. The dragon coaster will whip you around, giving you the time of your life. For nostalgia, Josh finds the Zoltar machine scene from the movie Big along the big, beautiful boardwalk overlooking the beach.
The place gives you a taste of an era long gone. There are rides for all family members, including a Kiddie Coaster, Double Shot, Crazy mouse, and many more.
Not believe that the park will be open. That’s like Not believing in fair tales or not believing in the tooth fairy?
In all this world there will be nothing else real and abiding. You and mommy and daddy have to do the right thing and Select the right officials for government and stay on top of those elected to make sure that you have good classroom materials and quality text books.
Playland? As long as there are Anita’s Playland will be there for many years after you leave the planet for kids to enjoy. We must ask for the investment in the facility so there is a Playland with top notch rides and facilities.
Just like there will be plenty of officials during the tenure Of the park, some Democrats, some Republican a mix that will keep many Julia’s enjoying the beautiful park every summer.
