Experience history in real time at John Jay Homestead State Historic Site’s inaugural Reenactor Showcase!

There are a thousand different ways to enjoy history, and with springtime fully upon us, now’s the perfect time to take your passion for learning outdoors. Join us on Saturday, May 13, from 11am to 2pm for a presentation from over a dozen historical reenactors whose area of expertise ranges from the colonial era up to the early-1900s. Guests are invited to go at their own pace as they listen to live music while learning about smithing, riflery, craftsmanship, and so much more! Several of our Founding Fathers will be in attendance to take questions and chat with guests.

Coinciding with our weekly Farm Market, the Showcase is a great opportunity for parents looking to instill a love of history in their children, history buffs who want to polish their knowledge and interact with other aficionados, or anyone who’s interested in learning something new. With the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution right around the corner, this is an exciting time to see much of our nation’s history brought to life!

The Showcase will be held outdoors rain or shine. Admission is free. All ages welcome. For more information on any of these recreation areas, call 518-474-0456 or visit parks.ny.gov
