The New Rochelle Public Library (NRPL), in partnership with the New Rochelle Council on the Arts (NRCA), is thrilled to present a nostalgic celebration of  The Dick Van Dyke Show, one of television’s most beloved sitcoms. On Saturday, September 13, 2025, 12:00 – 4:00 pm, actor Larry Mathews—best known as Ritchie Petrie—returns to New Rochelle, the show’s fictional hometown, for an unforgettable afternoon of memories, laughter, and behind-the-scenes stories.

Mathews, who grew up on screen as the son of Rob and Laura Petrie (played by Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore), will share personal reflections of working alongside comedy legends including Rose Marie and Morey Amsterdam.

Event Highlights Include:

  • Live commentary during a screening of Mathews’ favorite episode, Never Name a Duck
  • Never-before-seen color home movies and rare behind-the-scenes photos from the set
  • Audience Q&A, with chances to win autographed memorabilia
  • Meet-and-greet reception with selfie and autograph opportunities (fees apply; cash only)
  • Special exhibit of vintage memorabilia and replica props from the show
  • Moderated by David Van Deusen, publisher of The Walnut Times, a fan newsletter dedicated to The Dick Van Dyke Show
