EVENT OVERVIEW: Join Kayla Kaplowitz, mom of 2 and founder of The Plan, for 3 free monthly workshops this Fall to learn the apps, tools, and calendar hacks that’ll help you take charge of your family weekends and turn ideas into *actual* plans. Join one event or join them all!

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

Several libraries in Westchester County have teamed up with The Plan’s Kayla Kaplowitz to help any caregiver – parents, nannies, grandparents – become a better weekend planner for their family.

Kayla will be joined by North Salem mom of 2 Johna Rae Barrow, who loves building community and has honed her own family’s digital system to prioritize family and friend connections.

Kayla’s tried-and-true system will inspire you to turn ideas into actual plans, and be more intentional about making easy weekend plans with friends, family, your community, and of course, your kids.

In this “lunch n’ learn” virtual workshop, you’ll learn:

  • The apps, calendar hacks & systems she uses to capture “what-to-do” suggestions and turn them into actual family plans.
  • The simple AI prompt she uses to quickly add a perfectly-formatted, detailed event listing into your own calendar from anywhere (a flyer, a road sign, etc.).
  • The email and calendar settings that completely changed how she plans weekends with her family.
  • Strategies on how to turn your saved ideas from “we’ll do that someday” to actually making a plan with friends/family

BONUS: Each attendee will have the opportunity to sign up for a complimentary 3-month Premium subscription to The Plan

ABOUT KAYLA

Kayla Kaplowitz is the creator and Chief Curator of The Plan, an independent, reader-supported weekly newsletter & family events calendar subscription helping hundreds of local parents in Northern Westchester and Fairfield County plan better weekends. What started as a personal solution – a single, curated calendar she built for her mom friends – has grown into a go-to resource for local families.

Before founding The Plan, Kayla spent 15+ years in tech PR, working with startup founders and creative leaders. She brings that same systems-thinking and content expertise to her workshops: sharing the exact tools, apps, and shortcuts she uses to make weekend planning for her own family feel easy and doable. She lives in South Salem with her husband and two daughters.

ABOUT JOHNA

Born and raised in Westchester County, she now lives in North Salem with her husband and two daughters. Her journey into motherhood began with two back-to-back COVID babies in 2020 and 2021! After experiencing isolation as a stay-at-home mom, she was more than ready to get out, explore our local communities, and fill her calendar with meaningful experiences.

Fast forward a few years, and life looks a little different! With both girls now in school full-time and her working full-time, she is navigating a new season of life. She is excited to be part of this workshop and share how a little organization, technology, and communication can make such a difference in creating the life we envision.

Even if you can’t attend – these events will be recorded and posted on the John C. Hart Memorial Library YouTube Channel (www.youtube.com/@jchlibrary)

Additional Events: November 17th (register here)

Presented in partnership with the Pound Ridge Library & Lewisboro Library
