Lawler Is Our Choice for Congress

Congressman Mike Lawler with Sean M. O’Brien, General President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters

Two-time incumbent has earned a third term

Mike Lawler is our choice to represent District 17 in the United States Congress for the next two years.

Lawler has built an extraordinary record of service, achievement and results for the communities he has represented since 2023. What more could his constituents in Westchester County ask for?

He’s engaged – his office has closed more than 10,000 cases.

He delivers – he’s brought home more than $120 million in funding for clean water, infrastructure, and public safety improvements, and was the driving force in expanding the SALT deduction that saved the average family $4,000+ this year.

He works with people in both parties – he’s been rated as one of the most bipartisan members of Congress.

This has been one of the most spirited political campaigns in recent history in Westchester County with televised debates, relentless social media posts and intensive television, radio and digital advertising. The issues are abundant, but we see one distinguishing factor between Mike and his opponent Cait Conley.

Cait Conley is a carpetbagger. She parachutted into Westchester last year as the Democratic Party’s hand-picked candidate to run for Congress.

She’s never lived in District 17’s four counties – Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Dutchess! She is currently renting a home in New Castle so she doesn’t even pay property taxes here.

Her primary residence is in Virginia.

Say what?

Conversely, Lawler was born and raised in Rockland County, and has represented District 17 in Congress for almost four years. He lives in Pearl River with his wife, Doina, and their daughters, Julianna and Elizabeth, where he owns a home.

Lawler is one of us. Conley is an outsider.

We watched last night as thousands of Teamsters rallied in Elmsford to support Lawler. That type of support isn’t usually given to a Republican in today’s hyper-partisan climate.

We also appreciate the compassion Lawler has given to the family of Sheridan Gorman here in Yorktown, and believe Lawler is one of only a few members of Congress who could work to resolve our immigration problem, which requires continued enforcement to remove those illegal immigrants who have been convicted of crimes but at the same time provides a path for those who have lived here for decades and have become members of our community.

We applaud Lawler’s work in Congress and salute his legacy of leadership. He has earned another term.
