Iona Prep Lower School students put their faith into action today in New Rochelle during the school’s annual Hunger Walk, supporting the Christian Brothers’ mission in Peru.
The day began with Mass, followed by a walk around the Upper School track, with students, faculty and families taking part.
This year, the school is hoping to raise $10,000 to support the Christian Brothers’ work in Peru, which provides food and clothing to restore dignity and education to help build a better future.
The theme of this year’s walk comes from St. Teresa of Calcutta: “Do small things with great love.”
And that’s the lesson Iona Prep hopes its students take away — that even a small sacrifice, when done with love and intention, can make a big difference.
