Philipse Manor Hall Presents “Parallel Lines: The Western Iroquois and the American Revolution” Oct. 11

Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site and the Friends of Philipse Manor Hall are pleased to present “Parallel Lines: The Western Iroquois and the American Revolution”, a virtual lecture from scholar Michael Leroy Oberg. The lecture is free and will take place on October 11, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. on the museum’s YouTube Live channel.

Indigenous people who fought against American colonists in the Revolutionary War were not Loyalists. Instead, they fought for the protection and autonomy of their own communities. In this virtual lecture based on new research, Dr. Michael Oberg discusses the history of Haudenosaunee British allies during the war, with special emphasis on the Onondagas and the Seneca Nation, adding complexity to interpretations of Indigenous peoples during the Revolution.

Registration: This virtual program is free and registration is not required. However, you must register to view the recording. To receive a link to the recording after the program, email philipsemanorhall@parks.ny.gov. To view the live program, simply click on the link or visit our YouTube page. The Philipse Manor Hall History Lecture Series is supported by the Friends of Philipse Manor Hall.
