Greenwich Man Arrested for Illegal Firearms

On June 15, 2026, Michael S. Larriuz, 49, of Greenwich, was arrested by authorities in Westchester County, New York, as part of a multi-agency investigation led by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.

As a result of that arrest, Greenwich Detectives, working in collaboration with the FBI Westchester Safe Streets Task Force, executed a search warrant at Larriuz’s residence on Stonehedge Drive South in the Glenville section of Greenwich.

The search warrant resulted in the seizure of numerous illegal firearms, assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, and equipment used in the manufacture of unserialized firearms, commonly referred to as “ghost guns.”

During the search, investigators seized:

14 unserialized (“ghost”) firearms

15 firearms classified as assault weapons under Connecticut law

61 high-capacity magazines

Numerous firearm components, unfinished receivers, firearm manufacturing tools, and firearm accessories.

Based on evidence recovered during the search, Greenwich Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Larriuz, which was subsequently approved by Stamford Superior Court. The Connecticut arrest warrant remains active and outstanding.

Larriuz has been charged in Connecticut with:

14 counts of Possession of an Unserialized Firearm (C.G.S. 29-36a)

15 counts of Possession of an Assault Weapon (C.G.S. 53-202c)

61 counts of Illegal Possession of a High-Capacity Magazine (C.G.S. 53-202w(c)(1))

He is currently incarcerated at the Westchester County Department of Corrections.

The Greenwich Police Department thanks the FBI Westchester Safe Streets Task Force and its law enforcement partners for their assistance throughout this investigation. This collaborative effort resulted in the removal of numerous illegal firearms from the community and reflects the continued commitment of law enforcement agencies to investigating illegal firearms offenses and enhancing public safety.
