Yorktown Police Introduce Bicycle Unit

The Yorktown Police Department is proud to introduce our new Bicycle Unit, which will be patrolling the Yorktown business district throughout the summer and maintaining a visible presence at community events across town.

This new initiative reflects our continued commitment to community policing by increasing officer accessibility, enhancing public safety, and strengthening connections with residents and local businesses. Whether it’s engaging with the community, responding quickly in high pedestrian traffic areas, or supporting special events, our Bicycle Unit is ready to roll!

This program was spearheaded by the one and only Chief Noble, whose vision for expanding our community policing efforts helped bring this unit to life.

A special thank you goes to Yorktown Cycles for their incredible partnership in helping us acquire the bicycles and professionally assemble and equip them for patrol. We’d also like to thank Signs Inc. for lettering the bicycles and putting the finishing touches on them, making them patrol-ready.

The Bicycle Unit consists of Officer Pagliuca and Officer Charles, under the supervision of Sergeant Delgado.

Also pictured are Captain Foley, Lieutenant Racioppo, Lieutenant Rapisarda, and Tom Walsh of Yorktown Cycles, whose support and collaboration made this project possible.

If you see our officers out on bike patrol this summer, don’t hesitate to stop and say hello! We look forward to seeing you around town
