
ORIGINAL WANTED POSTED FROM THE NEW ROCHELLE POLICE DEPARTMENT-CHILD NOW FOUND
On June 15th, 2026, the New Rochelle Police Department concluded a long-term missing child investigation with the arrest of Dwight Richards, the father of a 12-yearold, whose mother reported him missing in March 2025.
Following leads developed over the course of their lengthy investigation, New Rochelle Police Detectives located Dwight Richards in the Bronx, and arrested him on a Family Court Warrant. The missing boy was not present, however, subsequent to his arrest, Dwight Richards facilitated the return of the boy to New Rochelle Police.
The 12-year-old was evaluated and found to be in good health. He was brought to New Rochelle Family Court to be reunited with his mother, who holds full custody.
Dwight Richards was charged with a violation of the Family Court Act, and also arrested for Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree based on a Westchester County warrant for stemming from this case.
The New Rochelle Police Department would like to thank the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, and their other law enforcement partners, who assisted in locating the child and bringing this investigation to a safe resolution.
