From Ireland to Yonkers: Irish Folk Singer, Emer Dunne and Band live at The Kerry Hall

Bringing Irish Songs and Stories across the Atlantic

On Wednesday, June 3rd, acclaimed Irish folk singer, Emer Dunne, and her talented musicians return to the U.S. with her captivating live show, The Folk Songbook Tour, at theKerry Hall, Yonkers. A rich and engaging show blending lively up-tempo favourites with heartfelt ballads and contemporary surprises!

The tour includes performances at The Kerry Hall, McLean Ave, Yonkers on Wednesday 3rd June, a longstanding gathering place for the community in Yonkers and surrounding areas. Emer and her band will then perform in Garvan’s in New Paltz on Thursday 4th June and in Swing the Teapot in Floral Park, Long Island on Saturday 6th June.  The trio will also hit the stage in the John Boyle O Reilly Club, Springfield, MA on Friday 5th June.

Following her successful debut tour in November 2025, Dunne returned to New York for the 2026 St Patricks Day Celebrations.  She performed the National Anthem to officially launch the parade, performed on the festival stage in Times Square, and at ‘Forty Shades of Green’ event in the New York Irish Centre, and marched in the parade representing Laois as a cultural delegate.

“I’ve absolutely loved my time in the U.S. so far, meeting so many wonderful Irish American and wider audiences. There’s something so special about how people connect through these songs, even across generations and distances, and I’m really looking forward to bringing that back again this June.”

What can the audience expect? Dunne’s performances create a shared experience for audiences, featuring timeless and well-loved folk songs such as ‘Beeswing’ and ‘Grace’, alongside carefully chosen contemporary pieces. From County Laois, Dunne grew up at the heart of the Midlands in a household immersed in music, storytelling and Irish heritage and culture. “My grandparents on both sides of the family were singers and musicians.”  It was the kind of home where she was always encouraged to get up and sing, Irish dance, play music or tell a story and this personal, participatory spirit lives on in Emer’s current shows today.

Emer is known for her powerful vocals, her warm and entertaining stage presence and her natural storytelling ability.  Joined by her talented musicians this trio consists of Eamonn Moran on guitar (Dublin) and Shane Meehan on fiddle (Leitrim) giving the show it’s lively energy, sensitivity and dynamic groove. Emer is fast emerging as having “One of the clearest and most beautiful voices on the current Irish folk scene” Ireland and the Emerald Isle (Germany)

No stranger to the spotlight, Emer’s career has spanned continents – from major festivals and her own theatre tours across Ireland to performances in Europe, Japan and Australia. Alongside her own shows in Ireland, Emer has toured for two years with folk icons, the Fureys, performing in iconic Irish venues such as Dublin’s Vicar Street and Cork Opera House and many more. She also shared the stage with Phil Coulter, Mick Hanley, the Celtic Tenors, The High Kings, John Spillane and more.

Her album, Hourglass, produced by Bill Shanley, topped the Irish charts and she has had three no 1 singles, earning praise from Hot Press, Irish Music Magazine, RTE Radio 1 and RTE television.  Supported by Culture Ireland and Creative Ireland Laois and presented in collaboration with PN Entertainment, this tour is a celebration of folk traditions and shared roots –offering songs and music that connect us across generations and oceans and bringing them directly to the Irish American communities and the wider audiences.

Catch Emer live in Yonkers this summer in The Kerry Hall Wed June 3rd, meet Emer, share stories and connections and enjoy some great music and song – a show not to be missed!
