The NY Working Families Party and the Hispanic Democrats of Westchester recently endorsed the candidacies of Jeannette Garcia, running for Assembly in D-90, and Leslye Oquendo Thomas, running for BOL in D-17.
“Yonkers is buzzing with excitement for Jeannette Garcia and Leslye Oquendo Thomas – join the movement by lending your support and volunteering for their respective campaigns for Assembly 90 and Legislator 17,” wrote the NYWFP.
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of @nywfp! At a time when families are struggling with rising costs and federal attacks on our communities, we need bold leadership that delivers real results — a home we can afford, universal childcare, healthcare for all, and protections for immigrant New Yorkers. Let’s build a New York that works for all of us,” said Oquendo Thomas.
Garcia said, “This campaign has always been about community, accountability, and bringing new energy to Albany. The Working Families Party has always stood with working people, fighting for fully funded public schools, affordable housing, fair wages, and real accountability in government. This campaign is about delivering for Yonkers families: lowering costs, strengthening public safety, and making sure Albany works for us, not the other way around.”
