Great Police Work by Harrison Police Officer Joseph Ader

Officer of the Month – Police Officer Joseph Ader

On February 17, 2026, at approximately 2:35 PM, Police Officer Joseph Ader of the Harrison Police Department conducted a traffic stop after observing multiple traffic violations. What initially appeared to be a routine traffic stop quickly evolved into a significant criminal investigation.

During the stop, Officer Ader determined that the driver was operating the vehicle with multiple suspensions on his license and had initially provided false identifying information. As the investigation progressed, Officer Ader uncovered evidence linking both occupants to broader criminal activity.

A search of the vehicle and subsequent investigation led to the recovery of multiple forged driver’s licenses, stolen credit cards, blank business checks belonging to a homeowner’s association, bank account statements, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia. The driver was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, False Personation,

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, and multiple traffic violations. The passenger was also arrested and charged accordingly.

Further investigation determined that the recovered property was connected to active identity theft and grand larceny investigations in Connecticut and on Long Island. Both victims confirmed the fraudulent use of their information.

Officer Ader’s proactive enforcement and thorough investigative efforts led to the arrest of two individuals involved in significant criminal activity extending beyond our jurisdiction. His actions reflect great credit upon himself and the Harrison Police Department and exemplify the dedication deserving of Officer of the Month recognition
