Our Readers Ask: How Did Anand Singh Keep His Job for 3 Months After Sex Chat with a 14-year old Became Public?

On Feb. 5, Anand Singh, a former aide at the Westchester County Board of Legislators, pled guilty to sex crimes in White Plains Federal Court. Singh, 35, from Tarrytown,  pled guilty before Judge Vincent Bricetti to traveling with intent to engage in illicit sexual contact and possession of child pornography. He now faces a mandatory minimum 10-year prison term when he is sentenced in May.

The charges against Singh date back to an incident in December 2022. He was caught in an online sting operation by OBL Global. This group does great work in entrapping people like Singh who are looking to have sex with underage persons. Singh traveled to New Jersey in the middle of the night, hoping to have sex with a 14-year-old girl.

After our story on Singh, we ran another story about former Westchester BOL Chair Catherine Borgia, and her recent appointment by County Executive Ken Jenkins to become Director of the Office for Women.

Borgia was in charge of the staff for the BOL at the time of allegations against Singh. Many believe her actions, or lack thereof, in waiting three months to fire Singh, led to her political downfall.

But the combination of these two stories, Singh’s guilty plea and Borgia’s appointment, drew interest from our readers, who all had the same question: Why was Singh allowed to stay on the county and taxpayer dole when proof of his crimes became public?

One email states, “Borgia was told by two legislators that Anand was alleged to have been caught trying to have sex with a 14-year-old. She had the Westchester County Police Commissioner look into it, and he told her there is something here, and I can remove him from the office now. She refused.”

“That was in February, but Anand wasn’t fired until April.? She oversaw all personnel for the BOL at that time.”

Another email states, “The timing of all of this brings back bad memories of Anand Singh and Catherine Borgia.  The County Executive is aware of all that transpired with her and Anand, including the timeline.

“She has never publicly answered that question; why was he allowed to remain in his job for two months. Her only comment was I have daughters. That’s like saying I have black friends when you are accused of racism. You don’t hide a pedophile.

“And for her to head the office of women for Westchester County is crazy. She should pay the consequences for her mistakes with Anand Singh, who is now in prison.”

Another email sent to us reads, “People are rolling their eyes at the appointment of Catherine Borgia to the Office for Women after employing a pedophile that she was made aware of. She hasn’t said publicly why she employed someone who solicits sex from a 14-year-old. And now she gets to run the office?”

In 2023, The Yonkers Ledger reported that Westchester County Police Commissioner Terrance Raynor told Borgia to fire Singh, even though he was unable to corroborate the claims or locate the video, which had disappeared from YouTube for three months. The Yonkers Ledger also named Borgia’s Chief of Staff, Melanie Montalto, as the person who recommended Singh’s hiring.

We continue to keep in touch with our friend Ramy, whose YouTube channel, UBL Local, caught Anand Singh in New Jersey. After he continued to have problems getting removed on YouTube, Ramy now has a LOCALS domain called obnation.local.com.

We asked Ramy about Anand Singh, who is now in prison. “I want to say that when we work with agencies that have proper funding, these cases end up having way higher success rates for the prosecutors because we have a system in place where we only go for these predators once the evidence we have against them is undeniable without a shadow of a doubt in court.

“I’m very happy with how the agents who took this case handled it, from start to finish. Very professional & understood every moving variable, which ultimately made the process a lot smoother. I wish all local police departments operated the same way federal agencies do; it would significantly raise arrest & conviction rates.

“In terms of our channel, yes, YouTube at that time implemented a new TOS that led to many predator-catching channels being nuked. We eventually launched a LOCALS called obnation.locals.com where we have over 16,000 monthly members who pay $9.99 a month to watch new fully uncensored episodes drop every month & that’s what truly allows us to continue to grow, reinvest back into the cause, continue to expose & arrest these pedos nationwide, & continue to spread awareness that these pedos can LITERALLY BE ANYONE, including those in positions of power.

“When a supporter signs up, they automatically unlock all 140+ uncensored episodes we have up there + new ones that release every month, & it truly supports us & allows us to release these episodes without the vigorous censorship that YouTube implements. We did end up launching a new YouTube channel called GLOBAL CATCHES, where we release more watered-down, censored versions of our catches. We have also been seeing great success on our TikTok & Instagram, pulling millions of views a month with our reels.

“Our IG is OBL.NATION & TIKTOK is OBL NATION if anyone wants to check us out over there, we release highlights of the catches.”

We have subscribed to Ramy’s LOCALS to support his mission. To expose and submit evidence to law enforcement that results in the arrest of pedophiles looking and searching for someone underage to have sex with…like Anand Singh.

Best of luck, Ramy, keep up the good work.
