Meet Yonkers native and resident Leah Janae. Leah, 18, is a Park Hill area resident, who attended the Charter School for Educational Excellence.

We noticed that Leah is appearing in new TV show on Fox called Best Medicine, a medical comedy drama that premiered on Jan. 4. Leah will be appearing in a total of 9 episodes of the show.

Before landing her first TV role on Best Medicine, which is set to air in January 2026, Leah Janae Thomas starred in a nationwide Amazon Web Services (AWS) commercial in 2022. The commercial was turned into a digital ad as well, which can be seen online and on various social media platforms.

Leah Janae, managed by Edge Entertainment Management, has been acting and doing voice-over work, as well as print ads, since she was about 4 years old. As a young child, Leah Janae appeared in Good Morning America, and in Maybelline and Culturelle commercials. She has also done print ads for Hasbro Toys, Really Good Stuff catalog, and Scholastic’s Dr. Seuss issue, just to name a few.

More recently, she did voiceover work for The Queen’s Gambit (on Netflix) and For Life (on ABC), and appeared in a holiday TV commercial for retailer 5 Below.

The AWS commercial, however, was the first time Leah Janae played the principal actor for a job. The Amazon Web Services commercial, filmed in Cape Town, South Africa in 2022, gave Leah the opportunity to work with producer Jake Scott, a well-known British film producer, and learned a lot about the industry.

In her free time, Leah loves to bake and started her own at-home baking business, Delites by Leah (IG @delitesbyleah). She is also a social media influencer with almost half a million followers across all platforms. She attends college full time at Hampton University, and is a Marketing major, so she has put her baking business on hold for now.

Congratulations to Leah, and for making Yonkers proud. We will be watching Best Medicine and looking forward to your future.
