Frank Jereis
Following Assemblymember Nader Sayegh’s announcement not to seek re-election, Democrat Frank Jereis today officially announced his intention to run for Yonkers’ 90th Assembly District. Jereis currently serves as the Assemblymember’s Chief of Staff, and he is a lifelong Yonkers resident with a deep understanding of the community and its needs. Jereis also serves as Executive Director of the Yonkers Democratic Party and has been a Democratic District Leader for over 5 years. The 90th AD is the only Assembly district fully within the City of Yonkers.
Jereis is well known throughout the city for his community and volunteer work, having been involved in multiple Democratic campaigns, walking picket lines with striking union members, and having worked at the Yonkers Commission on Human Rights.
“With so much instability, divisiveness, and uncertainty coming out of Washington, Yonkers needs an Assemblymember who will tackle our affordability crisis; stand up to Trump and all forms of extremism; secure funds for schools, child care and senior services; and fix Tier 6 so our teachers, firefighters, police officers, and public works employees can earn the dignified retirements they deserve,” said Jereis.
“I want to thank Assemblymember Sayegh for his years of public service and for being such strong example of dedicated, effective leadership,” Jereis added. “With so many people losing their faith in our democracy, it is up to us to restore that faith by delivering top-notch constituent services, fighting for common-sense values in Albany, and demanding real accountability at every level of government. I’ve worked in government at the state and municipal level, I’m ready to hit the ground running on day one and deliver the representation our community deserves.”
