The Yonkers Columbus Celebration Committee hosted a weekend of events including its annual Dinner-Dance on Oct. 4 at the Westchester Manor. The honorees and recipients of the Humanitarian Award were Silvio DiMeglio and Peter Mitrione. Also honored were Parade Grand Marshal Robert Ferrito, Hall of Fame Recipient John Gresia, and Parade Deputy Grand Marshals Michael Sabatino, John Rubbo and Anthony Merante.

Two days later, the annual parade was held. It was a perfect day for the parade – the oldest in Yonkers – and it was well attended. Present at both the dinner and parade was Christina Marie Figura, Miss Columbus 2019. Figura is currently a junior a Maria Regina High School, is an active member of St. Ann’s Church, and aspires to being a lawyer.

Congratulations to the parade committee for all of their hard work in making the celebration another success.
