2025’s CULTURAL CELEBRATIONS CLOSE WITH MUSLIM HERITAGE FESTIVAL ON AUGUST 24

Embrace diverse traditions, food, music and art at Kensico Dam Plaza.

The final event in Westchester County’s cultural heritage series this year will be the Muslim Heritage Festival, on Sunday, August 24, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla.

This vibrant commemoration offers the public a unique opportunity to explore the rich heritage of Muslim communities through live performances, music, a bustling market, arts and crafts, food trucks, and educational experiences highlighting American Muslim culture.

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “The Muslim Festival is a meaningful way to celebrate the diversity that makes Westchester strong. It’s a chance to enjoy the vibrancy of Muslim culture and foster understanding and unity among all who call this county home.”

Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation Kathy O’Connor said: “The backdrop of the historic Kensico Dam and reservoir adds a unique and picturesque element to every event we hold there. The plaza’s accessibility and free admission also make it attractive to the general public.”

Admission and parking are free. The festival will be held rain or shine. Seating is informal; blankets or lawn chairs are recommended. Coolers are not allowed. Carpooling or taking mass transit is encouraged. To attend the festival via Metro-North, take the Harlem Line to the Valhalla Station, which is a short walk from the park.

Presented by Ahlan-NY and co-sponsored by Westchester County Parks, the Muslim Heritage Festival is a welcoming celebration open to all.

Kensico Dam Plaza is located at the north end of the Bronx River Parkway in Valhalla. For more information, call (914) 231-4500.
