From Yonkers City Councilman Anthony Merante:
Tim Hodges owes the people of Yonkers—and Councilmember Anthony Merante—a public apology. In a stunning display of dishonesty, Hodges falsely claimed in an op-ed published in the Yonkers Times that Councilmember Merante did not support the Capital Budget. That claim is not just misleading—it’s a flat-out lie.
The truth? The Capital Budget passed unanimously, 7–0, with Councilmember Merante offering clear and vocal support from the floor of the Council Chambers.
“I voted in favor of the Capital Budget because it addresses major needs that have been long neglected—such as road resurfacing, updated textbooks for our students, and the purchase of new fire trucks,” Merante said. “We must also ensure that our emergency response equipment is fully operational. When someone calls 911, our units need to be ready and equipped to help.”
When someone deliberately distorts the public record for political gain, it raises serious questions about their credibility and character. If this is what Tim Hodges calls integrity, how can the people of Yonkers believe anything he says?
