A routine evening in Yonkers turned deadly on Feb. 6 when two 16-year-old boys were brutally stabbed outside Mickey’s Pizza on Lake Avenue. The shocking violence, captured on surveillance footage, shows the small pizzeria as chaos unfolded.
Yonkers Police responded swiftly to the scene, but the two teenagers, one from Yonkers and the other from Queens, did not survive their injuries. Authorities have since identified the suspect as a 17-year-old, whose name has not been released due to his age.
According to police sources, the fatal encounter began as an argument that quickly escalated into bloodshed. One of the boys was stabbed first during the dispute, while the other attempted to flee. However, the attacker pursued him, delivering fatal stab wounds to his abdomen and upper chest.
The brutal nature of the killings has once again put a spotlight on violence in Yonkers, a city grappling with the impact of youth crime. The tragedy has sparked conversations about safety, intervention programs, and the broader social issues that contribute to such deadly conflicts.
“It’s just more violence as usual,” said Alajah Whitehead, 28, a former Yonkers resident who moved to Connecticut in search of a different environment. “It’s a senseless act,” her grandmother added.
The killings mark yet another violent episode in Westchester County’s largest city, raising urgent questions about how to prevent such senseless deaths. Community members are demanding answers and solutions, while law enforcement continues its investigation into the circumstances that led to the attack.
As the investigation unfolds, the families of the two victims are left to mourn lives cut tragically short. Meanwhile, a community shaken by the violence is once again forced to confront the painful reality of youth crime in their midst.

The suspect then produced a knife and stabbed the first victim one time in the chest. The suspect then started to flee the location where he was met by the second victim at the entrance to the location. The suspect then proceeded to stab the second victim in the abdomen and upper chest before continuing to flee from the scene. Based on evidence and intelligence gathered, detectives were able to apprehend the suspect in Yonkers on Friday, February 7th, 2025. Detectives are actively working to determine the circumstances that led to this fatal encounter, and further details may be released as the investigation progresses.
The suspect is a 17-year-old resident of this city and is expected to be arraigned in the Youth Part of Westchester County Court as an Adolescent Offender on two counts of Murder in the 2nd Degree, an A1 Felony in the New York State Penal Law.
