Great crowds attended Yonkers Arts Weekend recently, which was a huge success for the hundreds of Yonkers artists who showcased their works and who have studios in the city. One project that attracted the attention of many was the “Yes Yonkers!” community quit project, which was unveiled at the Riverfront Library.
Months of hard work was evident as more than 1,000 people created more than 1,000 swatches of artwork, which came together into what many believe is the largest community art project in Yonkers’ history. The quilt was also a symbol of how the City of Yonkers, its artists, and thousands of visitors came together to enjoy a weekend or art, activities, and to showcase the city as an ever-growing home for artistic creativity
