Governor Hochul’s recent comments labeling Republican supporters as ‘anti-women’ and ’anti-American’ are not only misplaced but deeply divisive. It is disheartening to see a leader resort to rhetoric that seeks to pit citizens against one another rather than foster constructive dialogue.
The Republican Party, including its supporters in Yonkers and throughout New York, stands firmly for the fundamental values of freedom, individual rights, and the empowerment of all women. We believe in policies that uplift families, promote economic opportunity, and ensure that every individual has the chance to succeed, regardless of their gender or background.
It is critical that our elected officials focus on bridging divides and addressing the real concerns facing our communities, rather than engaging in baseless attacks. We invite the Governor to join us in a conversation rooted in respect and understanding, as we work together to build a brighter future for all New Yorkers.
Hochul made the comments on MSNBC. “If you’re voting for these Republicans in New York, you are voting for someone who supports Donald Trump and you’re anti-woman, you’re anti-abortion, and basically, you’re anti-American because you have just trashed American values and what our country is about over and over and you wear this on Election Day.”
