State Senate Candidate Khris Kerr: Don’t Cancel Me, Let the People Decide

Why are Newspapers Being Stolen in Westchester for Election 24?

By Dan Murphy

Some candidates running for office in Westchester this year have noticed bundles of newspapers disappearing. Last week, a woman was caught taking all of the few hundred copies of the Westchester Examiner in White Plains.

When confronted, the woman said she was taking them back to her office. When told the police would be called, she returned the papers to the box and left. The following day, the same box of papers on Martine Avenue was empty.

The papers had ads for republican candidates running in Westchester, including Congressman Mike Lawler, State Senate candidate Khris Kerr, and Assembly candidate Alessandro Crocco.

Why the papers were stolen remains a mystery. Kerr, who is running for State Senate in the 35th District against Democratic Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, says it is an attempt to keep her campaign quiet and out of the public eye.

“I want the voters to know I am running against Andrea Stewart-Cousins.

Most people don’t know who I am or that she has an opponent.

“I put ads in the paper to help inform the voters that I am running and they have a choice. When the newspapers disappear, it cancels my campaign. Let the people decide.

Khris Kerr ran against Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins in 2022 and said she decided to run again because she and other New Yorkers are fed up with how New York and our Country are being run.

“New York’s slogan used to be “I Love New York,” but with the increase in crime, defunding police, inflation, illegal migrants, utility costs, and failed bail reform, all under Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins’ watch, all you hear now is “I’m Leaving New York.” We need to make a change now.

Khris Kerr was a lifelong Democrat. “I walked away from the Party when the Party left me.”By trade, Kerr is an electrical engineer who successfully designed and implemented the first E-ZPass system worldwide at 7 bridges and two tunnels for the MTA. Her professional experience also includes:

  • Being a public school STEM teacher.
  • A criminal justice college professor.
  • Working for the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office and the Yonkers Office of Emergency Management.

“My parents are Army Veterans willing to give their lives for this country. I want to fight to save New Yorkers from what our state and nation have become.

“Some people might be afraid to get involved in my campaign publicly, but nobody knows how you vote. I ask you to vote for your future. I am a common sense, law and order candidate who will fight to fix the mess in Albany!

“My opponent has been in office for 17 years. What will change if she is elected again? She can’t defend her record. But they should not have control over who reads the newspapers. The Democrats have absolute power in New York. If they are doing such a good job, why try to cancel me and take the papers away?

Kerr moved to Elmsford after living in Yonkers.

“I’m proud to support Khris Kerr in her race for State Senate against Andrea Stewart-Cousins. It was Stewart-Cousins who ushered in cashless bail, imposed billions in new taxes on New Yorkers, and sent billions of our taxpayer dollars to NYC to fund free healthcare, education, food, clothing, and housing for illegal immigrants. Enough is enough – we must elect commonsense Republicans up and down the ballot to get our state back on track.” – Congressman Mike Lawler.

Editor’s Note: We are disappointed with the woman caught stealing a newspaper in White Plains. While the papers were not ours, we understand and appreciate how difficult it is to get the news out to readers and how financially difficult that can be today. We also hear concerns from both sides about how our media today isn’t informing the public. We hear about Fake News. Here we have an example of someone stealing the news from the people… literally. Shame on you.
