Troop 12 proudly held the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Antonio Mignone on October 13, 2024 in the Sacred Heart Church Hall. The ceremony honored Antonio’s remarkable achievement in reaching the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in the Boy Scouts of America.
Family, friends, and community leaders gathered to celebrate Antonio’s dedication and hard work throughout his Scouting journey. The event featured speeches from fellow Scouts, leaders, and community representatives who shared their admiration for Antonio’s commitment to service and leadership. Noted guests included Yonkers City Council members Tasha Diaz and Anthony Merante, County Legislator James Nolan, and Nick Chiarella, Mayor Spano’s representative.
Antonio’s Eagle Scout project involved designing and planting a pollinator garden at Kittrell Park in White Plains, which is making a lasting impact on the community. This project highlighted his leadership abilities and demonstrated his commitment to improving the environment for all to enjoy.
In May 2024 Antonio graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains and is now a freshman at Samford University in Birmingham, AL where he is majoring in Political Science.
Troop 12 has been serving the Yonkers community for over 85 years, fostering leadership, teamwork, and community service among young Scouts. Antonio’s achievement adds to the proud legacy of Troop 12 and inspires other Scouts to strive for excellence.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt recognition of Antonio’s achievements, symbolizing the values of perseverance, dedication, and community spirit that Scouting instills in its members.
