Lace up your sneakers and join Legislator Shanae Williams in the fight against domestic violence! On Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 8 AM to 3 PM, Tibbett’s Brook Park Pavillion/Loop Trail will transform into a powerful platform for change during the 1st Annual “Break the Silence on Domestic Violence” 5K Run/Walk located at 355 Midland Avenue.
This event is more than just a race; it’s a movement dedicated to raising awareness, remembering victims, and honoring survivors of domestic violence. The day kicks off with registration from 8 AM to 9 AM, followed by an inspiring opening ceremony at 9 AM. Participants can enjoy a scenic run/walk, an award ceremony, and networking opportunities—all while making a significant impact!
Family-Friendly Fun:
Bring your children! Our Children’s Zone features fun activities for ages 5-10, and the event is dog- and stroller-friendly (leashed pups welcome!).
Not Running? Get Involved!
Support our cause by setting up a vendor table, making a donation, or volunteering on event day. Every effort counts in raising crucial funds for the YWCA of Yonkers’ Domestic Violence Community Education and Services.
