Operation Bundle Up: MVP Health Care, El Centro Hispano, and WPPS Distribute 1,000 Winter Coats to Kids in White Plains

‘Operation Bundle Up’ provides Coats, School Supplies, Gift Cards to Support Children and Families in Need

MVP Health Care, El Centro Hispano, and White Plains Public Schools will host a free coat distribution on Saturday, October 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Post Road Elementary School: 175 West Post Road in White Plains, NY. The organizations will give out 1,000 new winter coats, school supplies, and gift cards to children and families in the City of White Plains.

The initiative, called ‘Operation Bundle Up,’ gives the organizations an opportunity to come together to support the local community and provide coats to children who might otherwise go without one this winter. By providing these essential items to local families, MVP, El Centro Hispano, and White Plains Public Schools are helping to ensure children in White Plains can stay warm during the colder months, supporting their overall health. Free coats and other school supplies and gifts will be available to elementary school-age children at the event.

“A child’s ability to stay warm during winter has a direct impact on their sense of well-being and their health,” said Augusta Martin, MVP’s Vice President, Community & Provider Engagement & Care Management. “At MVP, we are proud to continue to provide coats to underserved children. In partnership with El Centro Hispano and White Plains Public Schools, we are providing a basic need for local families and striving to improve the health of the communities we serve.”

“We are thrilled to partner with MVP Health Care to provide warm winter coats to children in need,” said H. Judith Aucar, El Centro Hispano’s Executive Director. “Through the generosity of MVP Health Care, we can help ensure that no child must face the cold unprotected. This is more than just a gift of coats – it’s a gift of hope, warmth, and community.”

“The White Plains Public Schools are thrilled to partner with MVP Health Care to bring this opportunity to our children and families,” said Dr. Joseph L. Ricca, Superintendent of White Plains Public Schools. “With winter right around the corner, we are grateful for the generosity of the MVP team in making over 1,000 brand new winter jackets available to our children.”

As a community-centric organization, MVP is committed to overall health and well-being, increasing access, and removing barriers to care. At the coat distribution event, MVP will debut its new Mobile Enrollment Vehicles. The vehicle will have health care experts on-site to help customers understand the complexity of different plan options and assist in the enrollment process. MVP Enrollment Vehicles will be at locations across New York State, including Westchester, Rockland, and Orange Counties.
