$1,000 Donation to Runyon Heights Improvement Association
At yesterday’s Runyon Heights barbecue that Councilmember Anthony Merante sponsored he presented the Association with a $ 1,000 check for their continued good works to improve their neighborhood. This donation is a continuation of Merante’s “It’s All About You” project. This program was born out of Merante’s opposition to the pay raise the City Council voted for themselves and the mayor.
Councilmember Merante was the only Councilmember to vote NO on the pay raise as well as NO on the 5.45% property tax increase. Merante felt this huge raise was unwarranted and vowed to give his raise back to various community and not-for profits organizations that improve the quality of life for residents in the sixth District
