Con Edison’s Scholar-Athlete of the Week: Nick Castellano, Westlake High School

Congratulations to Nick Castellano, a senior at Westlake High School, for being named a Con Edison Scholar-Athlete of the week.

Nick has been all league in both his junior and senior years as a member of the Westlake HS Boys Basketball team.

Nick was All Tournament team in the Rye Tournament over Christmas Break. Nick had 16 points, 8 rebounds in a 54-41 win over Sleepy Hollow and 15 points, 10 rebounds in a 57-53 loss to Hen Hud.

Nick also stars on the Westlake HS Football team, where he has been named the League Receiver of the Year as a junior.

Castellano has been the team Captain of both the Boys Basketball and Football team.

Nick volunteers for the Mt. Pleasant Youth league, and has coached the town’s youth baseball team. He was the recipient of the Wells College 21st Century Leadership Award.

Academically, Nick was inducted into the National Honors Society and Spanish Honors Society. He has a 98% GPA.

“Nick is intelligent, outgoing, athletic and extremely personal. In our classrooms, Nick shines. He is a problem solver who loves to learn. Nick is a natural leader who is kind, patient, curious, determined and eager,” said Nicholas DiPaolo, Coordinator of K-12 School Counseling, Westlake High School.
