Yonkers Police Warning Beware of card skimming devices at local ATM machines

The Yonkers Police is presently investigating two incidents of card skimming devices having been found installed on the Webster Bank ATM machine located at 760 McLean Avenue. These devices are utilized to steal people’s bank card information and often leads to fraudulent account charges. Customers who used this ATM in the past month should check their accounts for suspicious activity and report the same to their financial institutions.

Skimming devices can be present at ATM machines, gas station fuel pumps, and outdoor point of sale locations; they can sometimes be installed at indoor locations as well. Consumers must be vigilant and check their accounts frequently, even daily, to protect against electronic fraud and theft.
