Yonkers community leader Sam Riti was recently thanked for his 50 years as a High School basketball referee. Riti, who has also served the Yonkers community as a Veterans advocate, was honored by the Board 52 Basketball Officials for his work refereeing tens of thousands of young basketball players over the past half century.
Pictured above is Anthony Fischetti, President of Board 52, who presented Riti with a Watch, pen, key ring and money clip with the IAABO logo. Sam said he is still enjoying refereeing and will continue to do so as long as he can.
Riti was also honored by Bill Bohl for his service as an employee and retiree representative of Branch 387 Letter Carriers Yonkers, NY. Sam is on the Executive Board of Branch 387 and was given a 50 year pin and gold card for his dedication to athletics.
And while we are on the topic of basketball, I would put my money on Sam against any basketball player in Yonkers in a foul shooting contest. If anyone is interested, let me know and we can make it happen.
Congratulations Sam for all that you have done, and continue to do for Yonkers.
