At the same time President Joe Biden was at Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers calling on democrats to vote for Governor Kathy Hochul, the Yonkers Republican Party held a press conference to voice frustration with the Governor. Dignitaries included Congressional Candidate Miriam Fischer, and New York State Senate Candidates Khris Kerr and Frank Murtha.
Westchester County Legislator James Nolan said “Crime Wave Kathy Hochul and President Biden have come to one of the safest neighborhoods in the area today to rally. Where they should have gone to is one of the other neighborhoods that have been ravaged by the Kathy Hochul Crime Wave! Go to Southwest Yonkers, South Mount Vernon, or the Bronx to see how badly your policies are hurting people! This Tuesday we elect Lee Zeldin as our next Governor!”
Yonkers City Council Minority Leader & 90th District Assembly Candidate Mike Breen said “Pres. Biden can talk until he’s blue in the face but he can not undo the crime wave that Governor Hochul and the State Legislature has created. By passing failed policies like Raise the Age and Bail Reform, Kathy Hochul has made New York less safe for all of us.”
Yonkers City Councilman Anthony Merante said “Today we have Joe Biden, the President, and Kathy Hochul, the Governor of New York, but what I see here is a financial freight train accident. Their fiscal policies have driven the stock market down 25% causing 401ks to plummet!”
Yonkers Republican Party Executive Director & WCYR Chairman Devin O’Rourke said “The President of the United States hasn’t campaigned for a Statewide candidate in New York since Pataki defeated Mario Cuomo. Now we have the President barnstorming in Yonkers! Lee Zeldin has a tremendous opportunity to win this race. Kathy Hochul’s Governorship has been tarred by a crime wave, a failing economy, and rampant inflation. Unlike Bail Reform, Joe Biden can’t bail someone out so easily. On Tuesday we will save New York!”
