Hundreds of veterans took advantage of Fuelco.Com’s July 4th weekend appreciation event that gave veterans $5 in free gas at the company’s Valhalla and Yonkers stations.

“We want to express our heartfelt appreciation to veterans who have defended our independence and freedom,” said Adam Musa, who co-owns Fuelco.Com with his mother Haifa Eljamal. “My family has lived the American Dream, and we recognize that this accomplishment would not be possible without the sacrifices made by veterans.”

All customers who used Fuelco.Com’s app paid $4.44 a gallon on regular unleaded gasoline—which according to GasBuddy.com was the lowest price in the region.

“I think we owe a debt of gratitude to Adam,” said Westchester County Executive George Latimer. “He has made it possible for veterans, people who served their nation, to be served in return and get a discount on gas.”

During the Independence Day weekend, both Fuelco.Com locations were stocked with material to educate veterans who needed more information about the Westchester Veteran’s Service Agency, whose primary focus is to ensure that all veterans and their dependents receive the maximum benefits from the federal Department of Veterans Affairs and other government agencies.

“You don’t see this price too often these days but thank you for what you’re doing and making mention of the veterans,” said Ronald C. Tocci, director of the Westchester County Service Agency.

According to GasBuddy.com, Fuelco.Com, consistently has the lowest gas prices compared to its competitors. All customers can download the Fuelco app from the company’s website to receive everyday low prices on gas and healthy alternative foods with no purchase or paid membership necessary.

The company credits its consistently low gas prices to their ability to shop wholesale gas prices from multiple different oil companies per day, rather than being tied to one specific oil refiner/company.

Fuelco.Com locations are at 651 Bronx River Road in Yonkers and 85 Virginia Road in Valhalla.

Coupled with its Foodsmart convenience store, the Fuelco.Com service station combines deeply discounted gasoline and a variety of organic, gluten-free, and fair-trade snacks, along with convenience store staples—think Trader Joe’s with gas pumps.

The family company has over 20 gasoline station locations, mostly located in Westchester County.

Fuelco.Com has a history of giving back to the community. Last year the company donated $10,000 to the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and raffled a Camaro to a resident of Ardsley, N.Y.
