Aaron Garcia, 37, a Veteran of the US war in Iraq and a resident of Yonkers, has been charged for attempted murder for a hachet attack on an innocent man in a Manhattan bank-ATM. The incident occured on August 15.
A detailed story from the Daily Mail details how Garcia lived in a Northwest Yonkers multi-family home and “terrrorized neighbors, sneaking into the apartments of females, and chasing the landlord when he asked for the rent. Garcia could not be evicted because of the recent mortatorium.

Yonkers cops had been separately seeking to arrest the suspect, Aaron Garcia, too — for an unspecified Feb. 15 incident and on four bench warrants for failing to appear in court. Garcia had prior arrests from 2020 incidents of harassment, aggravated harassment, stalking and criminal contempt.
Garcia is being held at Bellevue Hospital for pychiatric observation. The bloody victim of the attack, Miguel Solorzano, was not seriously injured, and did not know Garcia, adding that “He didn’t even rob me. He took nothing. Nothing. He was crazy.’
Relatives of Garcia told the Daily News that after his service in Iraq, he was never the same. “He was a little off-center. He was in combat. All he would say is ‘I saw dead bodies,’” the relative said. Garcia lived with his mother for a period of time bu moved into the multi-family home last year. Family members said that he began to get more rude and disrespectful, but they were shocked at what video footage shows him doing to someone he did not know.
