OWNER OF RECYCLED PAWS RESCUE ARRESTED FOR STEALING MONEY MEANT FOR THE RESCUE OF DOGS

SPCA Westchester announced today that their Humane Law Enforcement Unit (HLE), under the direction of Ernest Lungaro and in a joint investigation with The Economic Crimes Bureau of the Westchester District Attorney’s Office, arrested and charged Lisa Marie Birdsall, 55, with Grand Larceny on July 13, 2021.

Birdsall’s Recycled Paws Rescue operates out of 1851 E. Main Street, Mohegan Lake, NY. From January 5,2020 to December 31, 2020, Birdsall stole over $3,000 from Recycled Paws Rescue, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit dog rescue organization, without permission or authority to do so. More specifically, Birdsall stole over $17,000 from Recycled Paws Rescue by taking monies intended for the not-for-profit organization and instead spending it for her own personal purposes.  Her next court appearance in Yorktown Heights is scheduled for August 03, 2021.
