Meet Your 2021 Yonkers Idol & Junior Idol

Congratulations to the 2021 Yonkers Idol, Gabrielle Schnorbus, and Junior Idol Carly Tauber. The two competed in the 13th Annual Idol Finals competition held on June 12 at Untermyer Park.


Parks Commissioner Steve Sansone (congratulations on the appointment Steve!) welcomed all participants. The Mistress of Ceremonies was Marian Marji.

The Yonkers Idols sang 2 songs, while the Junior Idols sang one song each. The Yonkers Idol finalists included: Idols, Katie Donoso,Brian Guzman, Alyssa Fresco, Kevonte King, Gabrielle Schnorbus. Junior Idol finalists included Carly Tauber, Brianna Gray.

Special guests were the 2019 Yonkers Idol Tori Isreal and Junior Idol Amanda Gentile. The Idol Judges were: Steve Sansone, Parks Commissioner./Arts & Cultural Advisor, 13 Year Idol Judge; Olivia Hunter, Singer/PR Marketing Associate 12 Year Idol Judge; Yon Zweibon, Professional Costumer, 11 Year Idol Judge; Peter DiIorio, System Project Manager, 11 Year Idol Judge; Joyce Henery, Singer/Actress, 11 Year Idol Judge.

The City of Yonkers Idol Search program was founded in 2008. The Idol Search competition is an intense three round vocal competition divided into two age brackets. The Yonkers Junior Idol competition is open to residents between the ages of 10 and 14. The Yonkers Idol competition is open to residents between the ages of 15 and 19. This program gives Yonkers Youth audition experience and a chance to perform for the community for the third and finale round. The third round consists of the Junior Idol Finalists singing one song and the Idol Finalists singing two songs. The winners will receive $1000 cash prize courtesy of the UPAC’s Theresa Fund and the opportunity to participate in the Performance Program.

The Yonkers Idol Search program opens doors for the title holders to perform for an entire year at a variety of City of Yonkers ceremonies and events providing them with local exposure and community support. You will see this year’s Yonkers Idol and Junior Idol at City events and functions.
