After spending the day checking out all the art that Yonkers has to offer, stop by YoFi Fest’s year-round home at its Digital Media Art Center to check out a curated collection of short films with local connections, have some refreshments and mingle with other artists and art lovers at our casual end-of-day reception. YoFi Artist Talk: LAURA PERDRIZET

Contemporary Artist & Filmmaker Laura Perdrizet will share her current body of artwork as well as insights into her artistic process. Uniquely working across the visual, performing, and media arts, Laura’s artwork and methods of making are inventive and multi sensory. Utilizing both fine art mediums and new media technologies, Laura’s research-based practice takes a contemporary approach to materiality, form, and interdisciplinarity.

YoFi Artist Talk: HOPE HOLLINSWORTH COAXUM

Hope Hollinsworth Coaxum is a long time resident of Yonkers, a member of Community Baptist Church, and a novelist with several self-published books. In addition, she is also a playwright, screenwriter, producer and director of various theatrical works and short films significant to social causes. Hope has been instrumental in organizing and creating various programs, writing workshops and events relative to homelessness, domestic abuse and child abuse. In this talk, Hope will share what has motivated her artistic journey, the milestones along the way and why her work is designed to encourage all with courage, spirit and hope.

YoFi Artist Talk: LOLA MENTHOL

Lola Menthol is a Filipino American DJ, singer/songwriter, producer and illustrator born and raised in Yonkers, New York. She’s created animated projects for the Los Angeles Civil/Human Rights and Equity Department, various music labels, and renowned companies like Boba Guys. She’s also worked in animated film/television production for companies like Viacom, DNEG, and Netflix. Lola is also a creator and thought leader in the NFT/Web3 space curating live music, fine art, and film events. She has been invited to participate on numerous panels speaking about the new technology and business model behind NFTs. In this talk, Lola will share what inspires her as a creator and curator, how she approaches her work as a musician and visual artist, and what ties it all together.
