Andrew Cuomo “Campaigns” at a Black Church in Brooklyn, to “Tell My Truth”; “God Isn’t Done with Me Yet”

On March 6, former Governor Andrew Cuomo appeared in the public to give a speech for the first time since he resigned last summer over allegation of sexual harassment. Cuomo, speaking at God’s Battalion of Prayer Church in Brooklyn, blamed cancel culture, the internet, the media and the “political sharks in Albany” for his downfall, despite the fact that he resigned his office voluntarily.

“God isn’t finished with me yet. “I haven’t spoken about it in public yet because I wanted to talk about it here with you because God’s guidance is helping me through, Every day i ask for His guidance to help me learn and help me grow-nothing i did violated the law. The political sharks in Albany smell blood and exploited the situation for their political purpose.”

Cuomo said that we live in a culture whre “Twitter and newspaper headlines have replaced judge and jury.” He even went to the defense of his brother, Chirs Cuomo, who was fired from CNN after his brother resigned as Governor.  “They (CNN) were in the middle of a merger and afraid of the cancel-culture mob,” said Andrew.

“If you want to cancel something, cancel federal gridlock, cancel the incompetence, cancel the infighting, cancel crime, cancel homelessness, cancel education inequality, cancel poverty, cancel racism, be outraged but be outraged at what really matters and what really matters to you. Let’s make some good trouble, and let’s make this state the greatest state in the nation.”

“My behavior has been the same for 40 years in public life. That has been my behavior but there is a new sensitivity and nobody told me that i made them feel uncomfortable, and i never sensed that i caused anyone discomfort.”

“But I accept that social norms evolve quickly and I am truly sorry I have apologized and have learned my lesson. “

“Why did they announce to the world 11 legal violations when the district attorneys showed they couldn’t even prove one case? We know why – to create a shock value, to inflame the cancel culture, light up the internet and stampede the press and politicians. To do with politics that which they couldn’t do with the law. They used cancel culture to effectively overturn an election and that was the greatest Albany arrogance. They didn’t elect me, you did.”

“Now, since last August, five district attorneys have investigated the report of the much publicized 11 violations of law and do you know how many cases of the 11 they found to bring – 10, nine, eight — zero. Why? Because there is a difference between an individual’s opinion as to what they believe is offensive behavior and a legal violation.”

NY Attorney General Letitia James issued a statement after Cuomo’s speech. “Even though multiple independent investigations found his victims to be credible, Cuomo continues to blame everyone but himself. He won’t even spare a house of worship from his lies. New Yorkers are ready to move forward from this sick, pathetic man.”

A recentl Sienna College poll found 80% of New Yorkers believe that Cuomo made the right decision to resign.
